Kay has recently studied surface pattern design and has added
seamless pattern designs based on New Zealand flowers to her portfolio! Her source of inspiration for these patterns is the Botanical Gardens in Hagley Park, Christchurch.
How are Surface Pattern Designs Created?
Kay uses ink and pen, she hand-draws motifs, flowers, leaves and abstract shapes – then uses these to design abstract seamless patterns. These hand-drawn motifs are scanned into Adobe illustrator and arranged to form a surface pattern design and saved as a style.
Can I have my own company logo or motif made into a seamless pattern to use on office decor?
Yes, Kay can also use your very own company logos or any artwork you may have to form a pattern. You can upload these to Spoonflower and turn your design into fabric, wallpaper, tea towels, bedding, napkins, curtains, wall hangings, cushion covers and throws etc – check out my Spoonflower shop for the latest special deals!
